Family Time

John and I both spent time with our families over the weekend, but not together. I made a whirlwind trip to Tulsa for my grandmother's birthday, and John's dad came up for the weekend, joined by David, for some golf and man time.

While I was home I paid a visit to my cousin Lyndsey and her adorable new baby girl, Cammie. I was very nervous about holding her -- she's only a month or so old -- and I typically do not like to hold little babies. I didn't drop her, and she managed to not cry the entire time I held her. Progress! I also got to spend time with my mother-in-law, Stephanie, and eat at my fave restaurant (Queenie's) two days in a row! I'm not sure when I will get back to Tulsa again. Time with family passes so quickly!

John Turns 31!

John's 31st birthday was July 13th. We celebrated with family and friends at Marigold, an Indian restaurant in Uptown that we've been wanting to try for years. After dinner, everyone came over to our place for cake and John's favorite thing - presents! I can't believe John is 31! That means that I will join him there in two months. It seems like just the other day that we were 18...

Happy Birthday America!

Last night we had a few people over to celebrate the 4th of July (one of my least favorite holidays, but John loves it). It was a low-key evening of mojitos, burgers, rock band, and some fireworks. We are still in sugar shock from all the cupcakes and other desserts -- definitely not on our Primal Blueprint diet! But it was worth it. Both of our offices are closed today, so we are planning on taking it easy. I'm headed to my new obsession, The Bar Method, and maybe we will go to a movie. Happy 4th!

All of us out on the deck watching the fireworks.
